If you decide to install your own mailbox post, you must first call811.  You must allow several days for the service to mark the area.

NOTE" The United States Postal Service requests that the height of the bottom of the metal box be between 40" and 45" from the pavement.   The front edge of the post should be approximately 29"-39" from the edge of the curb and grass.
